Meg "Demvris" Bellamy

Meg "Demvris" Bellamy

A queer genderfluid artist, born and raised in Wales and still living there to this day.Concept artist with a penchant for stylised character and prop design. I draw a lot of inspiration from folktale and music, and love taking classic tropes and giving them a fun twist. Eager for a challenge, I'm always looking to try something new in my projects and expand my skillset with new programs and techniques. In my spare time I enjoy watching animated movies, baking (I make a mean banana bread), and getting lost in the woods.Constructive criticism always welcome! Jobs and new challenges even more so!

    1. I go by either Dem or Meg.

    2. Meg is my legal name whereas Dem/Demvris is my pen name. All freelance work and official publishings are credited under my legal name, and my pen name is associated with my personal/fan work.

I encourage they/them as a default, but I have no real preference. I use all sorts to refer to myself so I see no issue in people doing the same.

Demvris technically translates to Dem Draws. The "vris" part of the name was the result I got after putting the word "draws" through a D&D infernal language translator.

After expressing to a friend that I've never had an original nickname before, since everyone defaults to Meg, he started referring to me as Dem. A shortened version of my instagram username. Which at the time was LocalDemonic.

He introduced me to my future housemates back in university and only ever introduced me as Dem from then on. Subsequently this caught on and I was only introduced and referred to as Dem for a large portion of my young adult life. To the point that some people don't even know that it's not related to my actual birth name.

    Tall Tales of The Valley:
An indie game concept for a farming and resource management sim focusing on two none identical twin shepherds raising a flock of fantasy creatures dubbed "Buneeps."
They must use each day to the fullest to prepare and fight, protect and save their flock and fellow villagers from the otherworldly creature that is slowly corrupting the surrounding forest and attacks the valley on a yearly cycle.
Inspired by welsh folklore, this project aimed to have a bright and saturated style with a grim story and subtext.

Once Upon a Rainbow: Ancient Names
A collaborative piece, Ancient Names is a short story written for the "Once Upon a Rainbow" charity zine.
I had the pleasure of designing the spot art and characters for it.
The story follows a young maiden in a village and her life through through the various seasons. All she wants is to have a child, but she remains barren.
That is until a handsome fae appears to court her and eventually make her wish come true.

    VTuber: Local Demonic
Early designs for a twitch VTuber model.
The inspiration was impish demons, androgynous styling, queer identity, cozy vibes and mothman.
